The brochure of courses for 2007 (The 60TH Season of the Summer School) has now been published and booking is now open…
Dartington International Summer School is a gathering, a close-knit community where musicians and music-lovers of all ages, abilities and backgrounds come together to make music. Living, eating, studying and performing together, participants enrich their musical lives by immersing themselves in this melting pot – exploring things they would not normally experience, as well as developing existing skills and interests.
How long can I stay?
Most courses last a week. You can come for just one or stay longer, and choose a different selection of courses each week. Arriving on Saturday afternoon, the week begins with a Welcome Concert in the evening, and concludes with a memorable performance in the Great Hall on Friday evening. Participants depart on Saturday morning.
Where is Dartington International Summer School?
The Summer School takes place on the Dartington Hall Estate, just outside Totnes in Devon. Most courses are held in the music and theatre studios of Dartington College of Arts, a world-renowned, specialist contemporary arts institution, also based on the Estate.
Who is it for?
Dartington welcomes musicians of all ages and all abilities, although people under 18 must be accompanied by an adult or be part of an accredited group.
