The estate has a very successful badger population. There are ten active setts and much evidence of their activity in woods, gardens and along the riverbank. The eco watch team is studying their social behaviour and the extent of their territories and, during the summer months will be arranging badger watch evenings. Badgers need little targeted conservation effort but the opportunities for survey and monitoring work are unusually good. |
